The pathology of an idea would make a fascinating docu-series. Where did something begin and how did it get to where it is now?
I started working on a detective/crime series that takes place in a fictional coastal Maine village. I even thought I would work in something to do with antiques and appraisals since I have an appraiser on tap and I now volunteer at a thrift shop where I encountered a detective who was there the day I showed up for my interview with the director. (The detective was there for an entirely unrelated thing. I swear I’m innocent.)
All I know is I have been chomping at the bit to write reinterpretations of classic fairy tales. I did that with Ashrose Tee, which is a retelling of Rapunzel. I wrote a story called In Sheep’s Clothing, which is the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Now I’m thinking once again of the retelling of Sleeping Beauty, which I have been harboring since I enjoyed the best potato skins ever made on the east coast by any restaurant, ever.
It’s a strange thing juggling so many projects at once. I only hope the people who have been enjoying my free content can forgive me if I put that stuff on hold to work on the “serious” stuff.
